Our agency created a website with a contemporary look for Papadatos, a company based in Athens, Greece, reflecting the brand's design ideas. Like every website we design, it is responsive and adapts to any device.
What sets the company apart is its dual market: the products are designed for residential use and for contract, two channels with different volumes, specifications and contacts. This dual nature calls for a website that can speak both to a private customer and to a designer furnishing a hospitality venue.
The tool that brings the two needs together is the product configurator, alongside a section dedicated to finishes. Letting users put together the configuration they want meets different but converging needs: the private customer wants to picture the piece in their own home, the designer needs to check that a solution can be adapted to their project.
The catalogue covers the whole home, from sofas and armchairs to tables, chairs and beds, through to shelving systems, accessories and outdoor furniture. Around the products, the website includes the designers section, which credits the authorship of each design, the identity page, downloadable catalogues, certifications, completed projects, a video section and a store locator. The website is available in five languages: English, German, Greek, French and Spanish.
One configurator serves two audiences with the same answer
Papadatos sells to both residential and contract, two channels that usually require separate paths. The product configurator is the tool that serves both with the same answer: the private customer uses it to picture the piece in their own home, the designer to check that a solution can be adapted to their specification.
It is the kind of tool that makes sense when the product is genuinely configurable, and it should not be added just because it looks modern. Working with a Greek furniture company from our base in the Cantù furniture district allowed us to bring the logic we know best to another market.
