Website development for a company specialising in the distribution of bathroom furniture, wall coverings and boilers WebWebsite development for bathroom furnishings and heating and plumbing
Abbattista S.p.A. has once again chosen NewVisibility to redesign its website, following an initial collaboration that was already a success. Headquartered in Busto Arsizio and with a network of branches across Lombardy and Piedmont, the company has been operating for over sixty years in the air-conditioning, heating and plumbing, and interior design sectors: an online presence that must cater to two distinct user groups with contrasting needs.
On the one hand, there is the private customer, looking for inspiration, products and showrooms. On the other, the heating and plumbing installer, who requires technical data sheets, trade promotions and commercial services. Rather than cramming both into a single menu, we have segmented access right from the homepage into two parallel paths, with a dedicated members’ area for the professional channel.
The project was developed entirely from scratch: no off-the-shelf themes, but a front-end built with Webpack Encore, featuring bundle splitting and version hashing on assets to ensure aggressive caching and secure releases. Images are served in WebP format via `picture` elements with art direction and lazy loading – a necessary choice for a catalogue rich in visuals.
Functionally, the site integrates three operational tools: a product catalogue filterable by product category, a store locator that directs users to their nearest branch, and an outlet section with news and promotions that can be updated via the backend without technical intervention. The project is rounded off by digital business cards for sales representatives, which can be shared via a link or QR code. The website has exceeded one million page views.
With us, you speak directly to the people who write the code
When a company comes back to us for a second project, it’s not down to any particular technology. NewVisibility was founded in 2013 based on an idea by Andrea and Luca, lifelong friends who had already been building websites for several years before giving themselves a name. Since then, we’ve worked with over three hundred clients, but our way of working has remained the same: the person designing your website is the person you speak to.
It’s a tangible benefit, not just a claim. The decision to separate the service for private individuals from that for heating and plumbing professionals didn’t come from a brief imposed from above: it arose from discussions between those who built the information architecture, those who designed the interfaces, and those who know what installers actually search for on Google. Similarly, choosing a custom build with Webpack Encore rather than a ready-made theme was a decision based on the size of the catalogue and loading times, not on a supplier’s price list.
We develop everything in-house, and this allows us to stay involved after publication: we update, measure and make corrections. In Abbattista’s case, this means a website that has exceeded one million page views and which the company manages independently on a daily basis, from outlet promotions to news updates.
Read our manifesto
NewVisibility, a web development agency in the province of Como. Abbattista Spa entrusted us with the project for the second time, choosing us for the complete redesign of its online presence.
By separating the paths right from the homepage, with distinct menus and content. Private customers look for inspiration and showrooms, installers look for technical data sheets and trade terms: two entry points stop one group of users getting in the way of the other.
It means CSS and JavaScript are not scattered files but a project compiled into optimised bundles with version hashes. The browser downloads fewer bytes, caches them for longer and each release invalidates only what has changed.
Because in a bathroom furniture catalogue images are the main content, and they are heavy. WebP inside a picture element reduces the bytes transferred while keeping the quality, with different variants for desktop and mobile.
It turns an online search into a visit to the shop. With a network spread across Lombardy and Piedmont, it returns the address, contact details and directions to the nearest branch in just a few taps.
Yes. Offers, promotions and announcements are managed from the backend: Abbattista publishes, edits and removes content in a few clicks, without having to go through us for every update.
No, not if it is handled properly. We map the entire tree of old URLs, set up 301 redirects one by one and carry over the content that generated traffic, preserving the domain's authority.
It depends on the number of pages, reserved areas, integrations with the management system and the content to be produced. We always start from a technical analysis of the existing website and your business goals.
