Ristorante Da Rosa in Capiago Intimiano decided to refresh the look of its website and turned to our communication agency. Beyond the graphic design, the work started from an unusual question: not what people eat there, but on which occasions they go.
It is a distinction that matters a great deal in the restaurant business and is almost always overlooked. The same restaurant can serve a quick lunch for people working nearby, a Saturday family dinner, a banquet for a ceremony and a gift for someone. These are four different decisions, made by different people at different times, and a website that treats them all as the same thing only serves the most frequent one well.
The structure reflects this. Alongside the food and pizza menus are the business lunch, the weekly specials, the banquet menu and gift ideas, each with its own page. Next to these is a section dedicated to receptions, with weddings and events, which is a market of its own in terms of volumes and booking times.
The location plays a central role in this story, because for important occasions people choose the space first and the menu second. The website gives it a separate section, together with the family history, so that anyone deciding where to celebrate an event can get an idea of the setting before asking for a quote.
The same restaurant serves very different occasions
A restaurant that hosts a Wednesday business lunch and a Saturday wedding banquet is serving two markets, not two time slots. The budget changes, as do who decides, how far in advance people book and what they assess before choosing.
That is why with Da Rosa we built the structure around occasions rather than dishes, giving a separate page to the business lunch, banquets and receptions. The location has its own section for the same reason: people organising an event choose the space first and only then discuss the menu. We are based in the province of Como and have been working with local restaurants for years.
