Menu digitisation for a restaurant and pizzeria
During the 2020 emergency, restaurants faced the problem of paper menus, which could no longer be shared between different customers for hygiene reasons. Our web agency therefore digitised the menu of Ristorante Da Rosa, making it available by scanning a QR code.
In this specific case, however, the solution has a value that goes beyond the health reason it was born from, because the restaurant does not have one menu: it has many. The website brings together the food menu, the pizza menu, desserts, wines and drinks, the banquet menu, the weekly specials and the business lunch, which changes constantly.
With paper menus, this structure is a recurring cost: every change to a menu means a reprint, and a business lunch that changes weekly makes the problem permanent. The digital menu eliminates that expense completely, because each menu is updated like any other content on the website.
As in other projects of this kind, the technical choice was not to develop an app: scanning the QR code opens the browser directly, with nothing to install. The code always remains valid because it points to a page and not to the content. The restaurant's website is also bilingual and, alongside the menus, includes sections dedicated to the family, the location, cooking methods, the wine cellar and events such as weddings.
A digital menu pays off most for those with more menus
The digital menu is usually presented as a response to the health emergency, but its real value depends on how many menus a restaurant has. With a single menu that changes twice a year the advantage is modest; with six different menus, one of them weekly, it becomes an ongoing saving.
This is the case at Ristorante Da Rosa, where food, pizza, desserts, wines, banquets and business lunch all coexist. With printing, every change would be a cost: in digital form it is a few minutes' edit. It is the third project of this kind we have worked on, and each time the benefit is measured on that variable.
NewVisibility was founded in 2013 from an idea by Andrea and Luca, lifelong friends who had already been building websites for several years before giving themselves a name. Since then we have worked with more than three hundred clients. We are a human-sized team: you speak directly with the people working on your project, with no intermediaries, even after launch.

NewVisibility, a web agency in the province of Como, which made the menu available via QR code on customers' devices.
By pointing the camera at the QR code: the menu opens in the browser, on the restaurant's website, without downloading any app.
Because with printing, every change to a menu is a cost. Here six different menus coexist, one of them weekly: the saving is ongoing.
Yes, each menu is edited like any other content on the website, with no reprints and no need to ask the agency for technical support.
No. The code points to a page of the website and not to the content, so it stays valid whatever changes are made to the menus.
No, and that is a deliberate choice. The browser is already installed on every smartphone, while an app would add an obstacle that many customers would not get past.
Yes, it is a service we have provided for several venues in the Como and Cantù area, tailoring the solution to the number of menus to be managed.
