Website development – Boutique Hotel on Lake Como Web

In a boutique hotel, you book a room, not the hotel itself

Website development for a boutique hotel on Lake Como

Our agency’s team has developed the website for Villa Clementina, a boutique hotel on Lake Como. The site is fully responsive and ensures an optimal experience on every device.

The difference between a boutique hotel and a traditional hotel lies in the fact that the rooms are not interchangeable. In a property with just a few rooms, each one has its own location, view and character, and the guest isn’t booking a hotel: they’re booking that particular suite with the panoramic terrace, the one they saw in a photograph and decided they wanted.

This is why each room has its own page, organised by floor of the villa, with the view serving as its defining feature. Whilst this structure increases the number of pages, it reflects how decisions are actually made and captures very specific searches carried out by those looking for precisely that type of accommodation.

Around the rooms, the website builds up what justifies the price of a stay in a boutique hotel – which is not the room itself but the overall experience. The restaurant, featuring the villa’s culinary offerings. Local experiences, because those who choose Lake Como are also buying into the location. The wellness and fitness area. And the property’s vegetable garden – a detail that speaks to a short supply chain and a level of care that a mere list of services alone would not convey. The website is bilingual in Italian and English, with booking facilities accessible from every page.

In a villa with just a few rooms, each one is different

In a traditional hotel, rooms are categorised as single, double or superior. In a boutique hotel housed in a villa, it doesn’t work like that, because every room has a location, a view and a character that are unique.

Consequently, guests do not book the hotel as a whole but that specific suite, which they have seen in a photograph and wish to stay in. Giving each suite its own page increases the number of pages on the website, but this reflects how decisions are actually made and captures specific search queries. Alongside this are the elements that justify the value of the stay: the restaurant, the experiences on the lake, and the villa’s vegetable garden.

NewVisibility was founded in 2013 based on an idea by Andrea and Luca, lifelong friends who had already been building websites for several years before giving themselves a name. Since then, we have worked with over three hundred clients. We are a team on a human scale: you speak directly to those working on the project, with no middlemen, even after the site goes live.

NewVisibility, a web development agency in the province of Como, which developed the boutique hotel's bilingual website.

Because in a boutique hotel the rooms are not interchangeable: each has its own position, view and character, and the guest books that specific one.

In a hotel, rooms are repeatable categories; in a villa with only a few rooms, each one is unique. That changes the way guests choose, and therefore the structure of the website.

Because those who choose Lake Como are also buying the place. Local experiences are as much part of the stay as the room and the restaurant.

To convey a short supply chain and a care for ingredients that a list of services would not communicate. It is a detail that elevates the whole offering.

Because the decision comes at an unpredictable moment while browsing, often while looking at a photo of a suite. At that moment it has to be within reach.

Yes, we work with several hospitality businesses on Lake Como, designing websites geared towards direct booking and telling the story of the place.
