Website for an industrial fasteners company

EFS European Fasteners Solutions makes screws, nuts, tie rods and special fasteners to drawing for industrial applications. It is a business in which standard products coexist with custom manufacturing to specification, and this dual nature shaped the structure of the website.

The catalogue is organised by type of fastener: screws, nuts, washers, tie rods and studs, with a category dedicated to special fasteners, which are the core of the offering. Alongside this, the site offers a second way in, by application sector: oil and gas, energy, shipbuilding and lifting, plants, vehicles, mechanical engineering, agriculture and earthmoving.

The dual approach is not a whim. A technical department that needs to specify a component starts from the type; a purchasing manager in a regulated sector starts from their own field, because they need to know whether the supplier has already worked in that context with the requirements it involves. Answering both questions means losing neither of the two contacts.

The picture is completed by the services section, which explains what sets a supplier apart from a reseller: supply management, mechanical reworking, treatments and coatings, testing and certification. This last point is decisive in sectors such as oil and gas, where component certification is a requirement for access. A section dedicated to materials rounds off the technical journey.

Two technical contacts search in two different ways

At a company like EFS, two kinds of contact coexist. The technical department starts from the type of fastener because it needs to specify a component. The purchasing manager in a regulated sector starts from their own field instead, because above all they want to know whether the supplier has already worked in that context.

Building a single hierarchy would have meant serving one well and the other badly. The dual products-and-sectors approach solves the problem, and the testing and certification section completes the reasoning: in fields like oil and gas, certification is not a selling point but a requirement for access, and it must be found straight away.

Screws, nuts, washers, tie rods and studs, as well as special fasteners made to drawing for industrial applications in technically demanding sectors.

Because the technical department starts from the type of fastener, while the purchasing manager starts from their own application sector. Two ways in serve both without penalising either.

Fasteners made to the customer's specification rather than from a catalogue, when standard solutions do not meet the required dimensions, material or strength.

Because in sectors such as oil and gas and energy, component certification is a requirement for access to supply, not simply a point of commercial differentiation.

To support choices at the design stage. Anyone specifying a fastener must assess the material in relation to the operating environment even before the geometry of the part.

Yes. We design technical catalogues structured around the way customers search, bearing in mind that several people with different needs are involved in industrial purchasing.
