Website renewal for a textile company in Como
Canepa is a recognised name in textiles, synonymous with quality and innovation, and one of the historic companies of the Como silk district. The company turned to our agency to renew its website and communicate its identity at its best.
We created a modern, clean website that is simple to navigate: thanks to a layout with essential lines, the images of the fabrics produced by the company take centre stage. In this sector it is a technical necessity before an aesthetic one, because the hand, weave and drape of a fabric can only be conveyed through photography, and every graphic element that competes with the image works against the product.
The catalogue structure follows end uses rather than internal product categories: fabrics for clothing, ties, knitwear, scarves, swimwear and furnishings. This is how a buyer thinks: starting from the finished product they need to make and looking for the fabric suited to that application.
Alongside the products, the website gives space to the company’s story, with a section dedicated to history and industry and one to the biblioteca, the fabric archive which, for a historic textile company, is a research asset as well as a memory. The project is trilingual in Italian, English and French, a choice consistent with fashion markets, and the responsive design ensures the images render well on smartphones and tablets too.
In Como, textiles are history, and must be treated accordingly
The Como silk district is just a few kilometres from us, and working with a historic textile company means understanding that the catalogue is not a price list: it is the result of decades of research. That is why with Canepa we gave the fabric biblioteca its own space, because in a company like this it is not a nostalgic archive but a working tool.
For everything else we chose subtraction. A layout with essential lines and the fabric images in the foreground, because hand and weave can only be conveyed photographically and every extra decorative element takes attention away from the product. Finally, the structure by end use follows the buyer’s reasoning rather than the company organisation chart.
NewVisibility was founded in 2013 from an idea by Andrea and Luca, lifelong friends who had already been building websites for several years before giving themselves a name. Since then we have worked with more than three hundred clients. We are a team on a human scale: you speak directly with the people working on your project, with no intermediaries, even after launch.

NewVisibility, a web development agency in the province of Como, which handled the website renewal, the catalogue structure and the development of the trilingual responsive design.
It is a historic textile company in the Como silk district, recognised as synonymous with quality and innovation, producing fabrics for clothing, accessories and furnishings.
Because buyers start from the finished product they need to make, not from the internal classification. Ties, knitwear or furnishings are the categories purchasers think in.
Because the hand, weave and drape of a fabric can only be conveyed through photography. Every graphic element that competes with the image works against the product you want to sell.
The space dedicated to the company’s fabric archive. In a historic textile company the archive is a research asset from which new collections are born, not just a matter of memory.
Because the key fashion markets require it. Italian, English and French cover the sector’s main audiences, each with its own indexed version.
Yes. We work in the Como district and are registered on the Lombardy regional list of incubators and accelerators for fashion and design.
