Mobile-friendly websites get priority as Google rewrites its search algorithm
For the first time in history, in October 2016 internet traffic generated by mobile devices overtook desktop traffic. Naturally Google, the web giant, did not remain indifferent to this news and has already brought about a new small revolution.
The giant of Mountain View has in fact changed the algorithm responsible for search ranking, that is, it wants to give more visibility to mobile sites than to desktop sites when browsing from a mobile phone or tablet.
Do not panic if your website is not optimised for mobile phones: there is always a solution. Google will not make desktop sites disappear, it will simply analyse them and give priority to those that turn out to be “mobile-friendly”. It is good practice to check periodically where the users of your website come from with monitoring tools: if most of them read you from a mobile phone or tablet, it is time to consider optimising your website for mobile devices.
At NewVisibility, a communication agency in the province of Como, we develop websites that are already optimised for all devices, because they are responsive, that is, able to adapt automatically to any screen. We also add specific content for excellent rankings in Google search.
