Google rewards those who improve Local Guides
Google Maps has recently revamped its Local Guides programme, introducing a few new features.
We are a communication agency in Como and Cantù whose goal is to offer our clients quality services, which is why we always need to stay up to date on the web and its latest developments.
For those who don't yet know Local Guides, it is a programme that allows anyone, after signing up, to improve the Google Maps service by adding places to the map, writing reviews or adding photos to illustrate them better.
The Mountain View giant thus turns users into small-scale guides, offering prizes and rewards in return.
The benefits on offer are numerous:
- Early access to new Google features
- Storage space on Google Drive
- Display of the official Local Guides badge on Google Maps
And much more besides.
Each action earns a maximum of 5 points for the same place, and there are 5 levels you can reach:
- Level 1, from 0 to 4 points
- Level 2, from 5 to 49 points
- Level 3, from 50 to 199
- Level 4, from 200 to 499
- Level 5, from 500 points upwards
To become a Local Guides member, simply download the latest version of Google Maps and sign up for the service (available only on Android and Apple devices).
